Love, Joy, Peace...
Gather / Give / Grow / Go

We would love to get to know you and help you get connected with the body of Christ. Here is how to connect with us.

Follow Jesus
We live in a broken world, filled with broken lives, relationships, and systems. We see this brokenness in suffering, violence, poverty, sickness, hurt, and death.
Yet, among this brokenness, we also see purpose, joy, beauty, and evidence of a design. The Bible states that God designed a perfect world where everyone and everything had a purpose that fit together in harmony. God designed you for a purpose! His purpose is to have a close relationship with Him.
• "God saw all that He made, and it was very good" Genesis 1:31
• "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands" Psalm 19:1
All humanity has ignored God's design and insisted on living life our way. The Bible calls this sin. Sin distorts God's original design for us and our world. The consequence of our sin is separation from God.
• "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23
• "For the wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23
Sin always leads to a place of brokenness. Because all people have sinned against God, we see a broken world all around us. We all look for ways to fix this brokenness, but none of us can fix it on our own. We need a solution to our brokenness. God does not want you to live a life of brokenness. In His love, He sent Jesus, God in human flesh, to live out God's design perfectly. Jesus took the shame and penalty of sin for you on the cross. He died in your place. He rose on the third day to provide the only way for you to be rescued and restored to God's design.
• "For God loved the world in this way; He gave His One and Only Son" John 3:16
• "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures...He was buried [and] raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" 1 Corinthians 15:34
Hearing this good news is not enough. You should respond by repenting of your sin and believing in Jesus. Repenting of your sin means to turn from sin and turn to a relationship with God. Believing in Jesus means trusting Jesus as your only rescue from sin.
• "Repent and believe in the good news" Mark 1:15
• "If you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9
When you repent and believe in Jesus, God restores your relationship with Him. You are empowered to pursue God's design in every area of your life.

How to Join
Olivet Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers from all walks of life united by a desire to faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Everyone is welcome to worship and fellowship with us. Becoming a member demonstrates a commitment to serving our Lord Jesus actively through a local congregation. A member is committed to gathering with other believers to worship, growing through a Life Group, giving of their resources for the good of the church, and going into the world making disciples. If you desire to join with us and agree with our beliefs, vision, and mission of our church, we invite you to join Olivet Baptist. After the sermon of any worship service, a time of invitation is offered. One of our Ministers will invite those who desire to become members to come to the front of the Worship Center. Membership may be granted in one of three methods:
Profession of Faith
A public profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and acceptance of Him as your personal Savior.  Upon which, we welcome you not only as a brother or sister in Christ, but also as a member of our church family.  Baptism will follow your decision at the next scheduled Baptismal Service.
Transfer of Membership From Another Southern Baptist Church
If you are currently a member of another Southern Baptist Church, we will receive you as a member upon promise of a letter from that church. A team member will contact that church to notify them of your decision and request your letter.  A "letter" is a written (or electronic) communication verifying your membership at your previous church and moving your membership to Olivet.
Statement of Faith
If you have previously made a public profession of faith, acknowledging that you have received Christ as your Savior and Lord, we will acknowledge that decision and welcome you to our family.  If you have never been scriptural baptized (by immersion as a believer, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as a symbol of your salvation), you will want to be scheduled for baptism.
The Importance of Being Baptized
Why should I be baptized?
1. To follow the example set by Christ.
"At that time Jesus came from Nazareth and was baptized by John in the river." Mark 1:9
2. Because Christ commands it.
"Jesus said, 'Go then, to all people everywhere and make them disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and then teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.'" Matthew 28:19-20
3. It demonstrates that I am a believer.
"...many of the people who heard Him believed and were baptized." Acts 18:8
"We know that we have come to know Him, if we obey His commands." 1 John 2:3
